A few months ago a couple stopped by our studio in search of the perfect wall finishes for their home built in 1862. After introducing them to Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan, they decided to paint their old plastered walls and provide the backdrop they needed for their antiques and folk art.
We collaborated with colors and decided on a few custom mixes. The dining room is French Linen, Old White mix. The bathroom is Old Violet, Old White mix. Both rooms were waxed using clear and dark wax. The hallway is Napolianic Blue basecoat with a troweled on Emperor’s Silk then waxed with dark.
Annie Sloan’s most recent book, “Colour Recipes for Painted Furniture and More“, shows how she transformed her cottage in France using Chalk Paint® on walls, floors and furniture. Do you have a place somewhere in your home that could use Chalk Paint®?
